about

A rambling life isn't glamourous. There's uncertainty, sleepless frozen nights, estrangement, days without contact with others, unending self-doubt, and discouragement. Being 'famous' isn't my goal, never was. 'Fame is just a bunch more people wanting something from you,' to paraphrase a friend. Long as I'm playing for 1 person who listens, I'm happy. I'm just spreading stories. Things I write actually happened to me. I really did have my life threatened in Montrose, I slept in a beach thicket on Block Island, I wandered beaches in Australia following shooting stars, I almost lost my life when my lung collapsed. People ask me where these stories came from and I say 'life.' Perhaps a more accurate answer would be an unending open desire to experience. I'm not here to argue, I'm just sharing stories. When I die, the stories will live on. I hope they'll inspire others to live a life of uncertainty. Some people just don't look good in suits.

Please learn this tune and record it on YouTube, Facebook, wherever. tag my musician page and we'll share it. the earth needs more troubadours. the world needs more spontaneity. See you out there!

lyrics

No Capo

C, F, C
C, G, walk down, Am
C, G, walk up to C

I'm not here to argue
I ain't here to preach
but workin' for you
just ain't workin for me
I'm here to tell these stories
and then take my leave
whatcha do when I'm gone
don't much matter to me

I’ve been in some places
Didn’t think that I’d leave
I bummed a smoke from a man
With a gun in his teeth
I’ve lived in back alleys
here and abroad
Seen the pros and the cons
Of the Glory of God
Seen the pros and the cons
Of the Glory of God

I’ve crashed on some couches
And beach thickets too
If I broke an old promise
I’m sorry to you
There’s so many names
And faces long gone
Campfire lit nights
Filled with stories and songs
Campfire lit nights
Filled with stories and songs

I'm not here to argue
I ain't here to preach
what’s workin for you
just aint workin for me
I’m here to tell stories
and then take my leave
whatcha do when I’m gone
don’t much matter to me

I’ve been with some girls
Like me most were strange
I’ve dug inside dumpsters
Searching for change
I’ve hitchhiked with strangers
In beat up old cars
I’ve walked miles of beaches
and chased shooting stars
Walked miles of beaches
and chased shooting stars

I've run with the worst
and I've dined with the best
almost checked outta life
with a hole in my chest
I’ve been reborn and died
Must be forever now
Ain't gon' worry no more
What’s the use anyhow
Ain't gon' worry no more
What’s the use anyhow

I'm not here to argue
I ain't here to preach
what's workin' for you
just ain't workin for me
I'm here to tell these stories
and then take my leave
whatcha do when I'm gone
don't much matter to me

I’ve got these opinions
you know that I do
and i can’t guarantee
that they’ll mean much to you
Still much to live for
and we got some time
long as the glass is half full
and these memories rhyme
long as the glass is half full
and these memories rhyme

I'm not here to argue
I ain't here to preach
but workin' for you just ain't workin for me
I'm here to tell these stories
and then take my leave
whatcha do when I'm gone
don't much matter to me
