i know you watch from above
they say these feelings are passing
but lately i find emptiness
whenever I’m searching for love
tell me there’s someone
someone out there somewhere
who aches for this world just like me
send me your guidance
i won’t take it for granted
your land and your glorious sea

waves they are crashing
sweet and slow i hear them
and look up into the stars
soften my hardness
this rushing intensity
as this scorpion
hides behind mars
i don’t want a shortcut
i won’t take no handouts
i know this path won’t lead me astray
i balance my heartbeat
reach for my center
as a mantra builds within me

i will not harm and i will surrender
every thing deserves its time
deep down inside i trust and remember
when better judgment ruled over these lies
if only we forgive ourselves and our neighbors

i will not look down, laugh, or disparage
